Our venture originated from a vital need. With four decades of personal experience managing diabetes and a professional background as a nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, spanning 26+ years, I embarked on this endeavor. Despite grappling with a chronic illness, my passion for exploration and pushing personal boundaries persisted. However, navigating travel with a health condition poses its own set of challenges, necessitating meticulous preparation to avoid emergencies and maintain well-being on the go. In my capacity as a CDCES, I consistently advocate for the importance of a "sick day bag" among my patients, especially during travels. Yet, upon crafting my own version of this bag annually, I recognized the variability and gaps in its contents.
