2. Healthy Eating Habits
Adopting a balanced nutritional plan is essential. Focus on whole foods—fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks that can cause spikes in blood sugar. High fructose corn syrup can really do a lot of damage to your diabetes and cardiovascular system. Meal planning and portion control can be so important. .
Remember, it’s not just what you eat, but how much and when you eat that matters. I teach a lot of portion control with people. The human body can only absorb and store so much of certain ingredients. The plate method is a great teaching tool. Once our body is over saturated it gets confused and convert stored food byproducts into fat and cholesterols. Remember we are higher risk of strokes and heart attacks in the very early morning hours. So avoid eating food and sugary snacks before bed. Elevated glucose at night, in combination with hormone release in early morning, makes that risk of heart attack and stroke, even higher. #sweetmotivation #diabetes #preventapak
